Chapter III

Aurelius took a step forward and held out his hand. Suddenly, there was a bolt of flame and the spider lay dead on the floor! They walked into the dungeon then they looked around. There was nothing to see. Then they went back out to the courtyard then they saw it. A jeweled platform near the south wall. They walked over to it and stood on it. Suddenly, it swung open and they began to fall! It seemed to take forever, but soon they landed in a big mud puddle.

Icsis hauled himself out and said, "Oh! Another one of those God-forsaken tunnels! How shall we ever avoid them?" They hopped onto Drake's back and began to fly. Soon they found themselves over deep water. Soon they found a tree wedged between the cavern walls. There they rested for the night, then they pressed on. Soon the water dropped off to reveal dry land. When it did they saw a trapdoor. They rushed to it, for it meant green grass, flowers, and sunshine but when it was open all they found was an old village with stone pyramids. They had just come out in the middle of Tenochtitlan (which was an Aztec city at the time). Aztecs came swarming out to meet them!
